Yes. Places of worship often have large gatherings and open public access, making them important to include in Martyn’s Law compliance. All places of worship under any relgion that mass a large group of people together will need to evaluate their Martyn's Law compliance with many of these locations common terror targets.
Most will fall under the standard tier, unless they host large-scale events or festivals that attract significant attendance. These larger sites of worship that attract more than 200+ people will now enter into the advanced tier and will need to carefully assess their current readiness for a terrorist attack and how they will comply with the new Martyn's Law regulations.
AV systems can quietly manage security alerts without disrupting the sanctity of the space. Zonal speakers and signage can deliver calm, clear messages when needed.
Most public buildings will fall under the standard tier. However, the larger buildings such as council offices, town halls, event venues, etc will all have a chance of falling into the advanced tier and require more enhanced digital-led security measures to ensure Martyn's Law compliance.
Faith communities depend on trust and safety. Proactive compliance demonstrates care for congregation welfare and reassures attendees that their safety is prioritised. Depending on the tier your place of worship falls into could result in signifcant financial and legal consequences with up to £10,000 for standard tier premises and up to £18 million or 5% of worldwide revenue for enhanced tier premises.
